Can I Rock Your Body (Get You In Shape) Even Though I “Can’t Spell”?
We get boatloads of email – EVERYDAY – here at Atlas Headquarters…
And at least a few of them really grab our attention each day – each in their own special way.
Here is one that provides as interesting perspective – and after reading it – you’ll have a better understanding of the title of today’s post. So, enjoy – and please feel free to share your thoughts and comments at the bottom of the post…

To: joey ( at ) joeyatlas . comHello, Joey.
I am not writing to be picky. I am writing to share a perspective that could be helpful. Really. I just read your letter about caffeine, etc. I have been enjoying checking out your perspective on fitness and health. I am reading along mentally “deciding” if you are to be trusted. If you are knowledgeable. If you can help me…Unfortunately, not taking a moment to hit “spellcheck” and revealing that you deliberately don’t know how to spell diarrhea and aren’t going to make the effort to find out how to spell it causes me to doubt your care, and accuracy in presentling other health information. Now, I don’t personally care if you can spell or not and I know the content can still be good but it raises doubt in a reader’s mind…… For me, that causes me to have to work to get past it and becomes an obstacle to credibility.
Maybe other readers find it endearing, amusing or whatever. I am looking for solid information from a thorough, credible person. It is my health (very important) and there are so many options and opinions out there to sift through. If you have a credible opinion, it is helpful to present it that way. With care. And spellcheck.

Before I give you a chance to leave your thoughts below – I wanted to see if you caught Barbara’s misspelling…
“presentling” …I’m not sure that’s a word… hmmm… maybe her ’spellcheck’ wasn’t working…
Barb – don’t take this the wrong way – I do this in fun – …I still appreciate you – and I’m also VERY sure my programs will help you immensely – even though I’m guilty of a few tiepoes here and there

Hey Joey!
Love your stuff and honestly don’t care if there are typo’s in your newsletters or whatever. It doesn’t reflect on your credentials and who you are. All we need to do is take one look at you, and see you a picture of health and a picture of what you teach! By the way I am from the UK and our spelling is different to the American spelling, so if I were like Barbara, boy you would be in trouble hehehe
Joey please ask Barbara what is “presentling”, if you are going to correct somebody, then you should have all of your “i” and “t” dotted and crossed. I do enjoy your newsletters and I know we do make typing errors at some point in time. So just ignore Barbara and continue your good work.
I can tell, Joey, you’re taking this in stride! I’m one of those who has had trouble getting past the misspellings and grammatical errors of others. Working in admin positions requiring typing for men, I noticed spelling just seems to be a weak spot for that gender.
And, as happened to Barbara, some things just slip by. Please, keep the content flowing (while taking reasonable care to minimize spelling and grammar errors). Thank you!
It’s really a shame Barbara has nothing better to do than nit pic your grammer. I do believe some people are just negative and very unhappy and they want to bring everyone else down into there “half empty” glass of water world. Joey please continue doing what you do best and Barbara can go fly a kite.
wow ya i agree with everybody else i just started ur program yesterday and i just got to say ur info is just wonderful. Keep up the good wrk and again Barbara go fly a kite.
by the way barbara i txt n everything so et on my case i dare ya.
It is incredibly rude to pick up on someones spelling, that’s what I was taught ! but if old Barbara feels she must, she should make sure her punctuation is also correct, in fact, it’s pretty poor!
We all have problems in our lives, and when someone offers us a way to change things for the better, why come back with a rediculous criticism such as spelling? Get a life Barb.
This is Joeys strength, so what if his weakness is spelling? I would swap my decent spelling for a hot body any time.
If only Barbara knew that Albert Einstein apparently couldn’t spell. He failed his entrance exam but gained exceptional marks in maths and physics (his field)! He worked in a Swiss patent office where he could be creative and devise his theories of general and special relativity, We all know how clever he was.
It is known that being a good or bad speller has absolutely no bearing on intelligence, or credibility for that matter. Would it not seem silly if someone felt you had lost your credibility in your expertise at work because you wrote ‘presentling’ in an email?! Of course it would! It was an informal newsletter not a business letter or book. The content was correct wasn’t it? Anyway I think it makes him more personable. He is still highly professional!
Joey is a creative man. He has made programs that we can use without weights and sculpt my body like no other. KEEPING THE CURVES IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACES. Astounding (no need for the gym or expensive machines), Let the fitness expert do what he does and you do what you do!
For example, I couldn’t give a toss whether my car mechanic can spell. Is he an expert in his field? YES Can he fix my car? YES, is he recommended? YES. That’ll do fine for me.
Oh, I have deliberately not put this through a grammar, punctuation or spelling check. I bet you got the message though LOL!!
Alvarine – this is beautiful stuff!
Thank you!
All the best,
Joey
hey you shall know that the person that wrote something to say a little while ago had some spelling errors on her work but we shall learn i am very sorry for barbara i know that she can do better in her writing
